We answer

Motorly and cognitively, each child is different. Therefore, some children will be at the level to swim off for the diploma faster than others. At swimming school Max, the focus is on the individual and each child’s level is considered. Because of the small groups, optimal attention can be given to your child.

Swimming lessons at Zwemschool Max are taught according to the lesson plan of the official swimming ABC. The format consists of the groups: water-free (Mini Max), elementary swimming (Basic Max), preparatory swimming (Junior Max), Diploma A, Diploma B and Diploma C.

The national average for swimming certification explained:
The Swim-ABC consists of three National Swimming Diplomas: A, B and C. The Swim-ABC is aimed at children ages 4 and up. Swimming diplomas A and B are valuable intermediate steps, but if you have completed the Swim-ABC, you have become a true friend of the water. A child with the Swim-ABC in his or her pocket enjoys participating in all possible activities in and around the water.

The total duration depends on how swimming lessons are offered and the child’s development.

Once the A diploma is in, diploma B and the complete Swim-ABC are also within reach. The starting point for the average child to achieve Diploma A is a class time totaling 48 clock hours. Diploma B averages 12 clock hours, and C averages another 12 clock hours. So B and C together can take less time than the A diploma alone.

At Swim School Max, we have an average of 29 hours. This amounts to 39 lessons from Mini Max to Diploma A based on once-a-week lessons. A class lasts 45 minutes.*

Children as young as 5 years old can start at Swim School Max. Every child is different in his/her development. Therefore, the 1st lesson is always a trial lesson. During this trial lesson, the child’s level will be assessed. This allows us to place your child in the swimming group where he/she can earn the diploma the fastest.

Unfortunately, parents are not allowed in the pool itself during swim lessons. The reason is that your child is otherwise easily distracted. As a result, it may take longer before he/she could swim for the diploma. You can, however, sit in our lounge while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea and watch your child enjoy swimming through the windows.

Swim School Max accurately tracks each child’s progress in the Zwemscore student tracking system. That way we can see exactly when your child is ready to go off to swim for his/her diploma. You will be given a special login code to view these claims. Pupil tracking system from Swimming Score
